You may hear us affectionately refer to her as Lady Lynne (to differentiate from owner Lynn)
Born in Illinois, Lynne moved to Texas in her early teens, and still thinks of Texas as her (early) home. Then as the years passed, to be closer to family, she eventually made her way to Georgia. And even though she remains a Texan at heart, she does admit Georgia is slowly growing on her.
While here in Georgia, she met Sharon through a sorority group. And when she (Lynne) retired from the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home, Sharon was in need of employees at her Newnan GNC, and Lynne stepped in to help. And now, the story repeats, and Lynne has come on board to help here at the Sanctuary Float Center.
Lynne is amazing- very active and community oriented: she serves on the Board for One Roof Outreach (local non-profit), she’s involved with Heatherwood Church, and she helps out at Midwest Food Bank.
It should also be noted Lynne has a Masters in Psychology, she’s a Church Biblical Scholar and a Chaplain, and she is also a Certified English as Second Language Teacher.
And wow- Lynne also has a black belt in Taekwondo, and just last month, for her 83rd birthday, she went for a tandem skydive (the real kind, in the air, jumping out of a plane). And, her current project is to learn International Cooking, with French and Greek cuisine first up.
At home, she gardens and enjoys putting together jigsaw puzzles… but indicates her best-loved pastime is reading.
And she smiles when relaying her favorite things are family, friends and food!
As a cancer survivor, she is determined to live life fully… I think we can all learn a thing or two from Lynne!
