Vibroacoustic Sound Therapy FAQ

What exactly is Vibroacoustic Sound Therapy?

Vibroacoustic therapy uses specially designed sound frequencies that travel through a lounger into the body as gentle vibrations. Instead of simply hearing the music, you feel it resonating through muscles, tissues, and the nervous system.

What does it feel like?

Most people describe the experience as deeply calming. The vibrations feel rhythmic and soothing, similar to a gentle internal massage. Many guests drift into a meditative or dreamlike state during the session. Some fall asleep.

Do I need to meditate or “do” anything during the session?

No. One of the benefits of vibroacoustic therapy is that it requires no effort. Simply lie back, relax, and allow the sound vibrations to guide your body into deeper relaxation.

How long is a session?

Sessions typically last about 30-45 minutes, allowing your body enough time to settle into restorative brainwave states.

What do I wear?

Most people wear comfortable clothes so they can more fully relax, but whatever you have on will work fine. No need to undress or put on a robe. Simply sit back in the vibroacoustic chair and adjust for comfort. We do, however, ask you to remove your shoes.

Can I combine Vibroacoustic Sound Therapy with other Sanctuary services?

Yes. Vibroacoustic therapy pairs beautifully with many of our other services. Guests often combine it with Float Therapy, Infrared Sauna, Red Light Therapy, HaloTherapy, or Contrast Therapy to deepen relaxation and support overall recovery.

Who benefits most from Vibroacoustic therapy?

Many people find it helpful if they experience:

  • Stress or nervous system overload
    • Difficulty relaxing or quieting the mind
    • Sleep challenges
    • Muscle tension
    • Mental fatigue or burnout

It is also enjoyed by those simply looking for a deeply restorative wellness experience.
